One of the really insightful points that Chris makes in the tape is that JKD was conceptualized back in the 60's. Maybe it seems like yesterday but in reality these methods were from a different generation contending with a less ferocious predator. Ben Cooley
I've taken other courses, they were great - but I find that Ben Cooley imparts real attitude and tells it straight. Ben's home defense techniques are completely sensible and applicable to the most extreme home invasion scenarios. "Leading with your eyes" when going around corners during a home search is unique and has a logic that makes all the sense in the world. I've learned that if you are going to defend your life, you have to be willing to do what it takes and not give up. Even though I'm a civilian, I've gotten a taste of what the Navy Seals and the SWAT Teams have learned and practice!

I have been involved in the Martial Arts for over thirty years and have reviewed most of the videos out there. the Secrets of the Modern Warrior are the best that I have ever viewed. Usually I fast forward through most videos, with these tapes I found you can't afford to miss a minute of the information.
Fifteen years ago Bob Taylor gave me a inside look of the techniques and that made a believer of me. I am 5'10" 260 with 22 inch upper arms, I bench press 450 lbs and I am accomplished Black Belt. The little squirt actually had the gun away before I knew what was happening and damn near note my trigger finger off and almost broke my wrist doing it.
Just the research contained in this series of tapes is worth the price. What ever the price of these tapes the total knowledge contained is worth ten times as much. I cannot say enough about this series, except that you should buy them and find out for yourself. Believe me you won't be disappointed.

The demonstrations of firearm disarms performed by Bob Taylor and Randy Warner in their "Secrets of Professional Warriors" packages are again, superb. These demonstrations prove that at least 90% of the techniques taught in martial arts schools WILL NOT WORK! Incidentally this package is my favorite of the four.
I have studied Kenpo Karate for 12 years and most recently began studying Jiu Jitsu for 3 years. The techniques I have learned through your tapes have supplemented my self defense arsenal, and increased my confidence greatly.
I have been more satisfied with your tapes thatn any other item that I have ever purchased. I really appreciate your providing material by professionals who are experienced in the real world. Tom Proctor
Tom Proctor is a great instructor in self-defense and "going for the win". In his videos he shows how to handle certain situations and common approaches that hostile individuals may use in trying to beat you up, or just beat you. I have all of his videos and he shows how certain moves work and sometimes how to even beat them...but not many people are very well diciplined in Tao Chi Do, which is what he primarily teaches. I have used his techniques in my police training and many of my opponents are caught off guard, since they have never seen such an approach to fighting. I am really glad that I purchased his videos.

Mark Hatmaker
I have Mr. Hatmakers series entitled "Escapes from Impossible Holds" and I really enjoyed the videos. He is a gifted instructor who explains things very clearly, and introduces the viewer to concepts and techniques that work. I've also corresponded via e-mail with Mr. Hatmaker and he seems to be a consummate professional in that he responds to queries surprisingly quickly.

I'm more of stand-up martial artist/striker, but some of the things that I've learned and drilled with some of my dojo mates, has really helped me feel a lot more confident about being able to get handle myself if taken down. Thank you so much for sharing Mr. Hatmaker with the rest of us.

Valdimir Vasiliev
This is some of the weirdest things that I've seen in my 10 years of training - but it all works! I've utilized a lot of the concepts that I gathered from his videos (particularly from "The Russian System", and "Escapes and Realeases from Holds"). His teaching style and exercises are so common sense and natural, they are easy to learn and program into one's "muscle memory". What I like most is that the Russian System takes into account that your opponent may be stronger than you, and that we will all get older and weaker, but we can still effectively defend ourselves if we subscribe to the concepts he teaches. Thanks a million for Vlad!

"I've recently received "The Russian System" videos and I'd like to thank you for bringing this incredibly valuable stuff to martial arts adepts like myself. I've spent years in karate and Aikido dojos, as well as "participated" in a number of real life confrontations (which is rather unavoidable for a man growing in Russia).
I must say that your materials somehow finalized my own thoughts and observations on a true ability of self-defense versus "formal" martial art skills acquired in dojos. The materials can really reveal for an open minded person that simplicities and complexities of a true self-defense may be actually found pretty far from what people usually expect as a result of a "formal" jojo training.
I personally knew persons severely punished on the streets when violating simple principles revealed in Vladimir's tapes. The more they trained in dojos the more they managed to "attract" an aggression to themselves. On the contrary, the only person which I knew personally obviously having Vladimir's background, Vitaly, had never had to use them in his "civil" life. It is pretty clear when observing how they move and how they look that these are not kind of guys to mess with. They normally strictly avoid demonstrating their skills, so thank you once again, for investing your efforts and for making the materials available.

Just when I thought I had it all, TRS does it again. I can't stop watching "Advanced Grappling" featuring Oleg Taktarov. It's time to tell the Gracie's and the rest of the Brazilian grapplers to move over. The Russian's are coming. This tape is just incredible.
I thought Moosavi's "Ultimate Ground Fighting" was it. Boy, was I wrong. Oleg picks up where Shahram leaves off. Combine Shahram Moosavi and Oleg Taktarov, and you get something way beyond belief. Add in striking and you're a force that can't be ignored.
Thanks for the look at this incredible tape. Fortunately, I haven't had to use any of the things I've learned from TRS.

Wow! I am truly impressed by the Oleg Taktarov/Vladimir Vasiliev tapes. I have been involved with martial and combat arts for 32 years (originally trained in traditional Kenpo Jiu-Jitsu) and these tapes contain some of the slickest, most effective moves I have ever seen, despite the fact that they are amazingly simple and easy to master.
Oleg Taktarov's tape was especially interesting for the escapes from what are often considered "unbreakable" holds. His teaching style is clear and easy to follow, and the quality of your video production is very high. I have taught a few of the less "brutal" techniques to some female friends and they were amazed at how such simple moves, requiring no strength or long term training, could be so effective.
But what impresses me even more are some of the techniques shown on Vladimir Vasiliev's tape. They're simply amazing. Even more impressive is Mr. Vasiliev's incredible mastery of body mechanics. Like watching an Aikido master, Mr. Vasiliev makes what he does look like magic. You almost can't believe these techniques work because they're so simple, but when you try them, they do!
In the past, I have ordered a number of your tapes and have found them to be extremely useful training aids, but these two tapes are the best I've seen. The techniques I have learned from them have definitely added some new weapons to my "arsenal" that would give an attacker some very unpleasant surprises, indeed. Keep up the good work.

I have studied and analyzed the "International Warrior Series" video package with Oleg Taktarov and Vladimir Vasiliev. The Russians, who for centuries have been at the cross roads of international trade, and bloody conflicts, have developed a style of personal combat that takes us to the next higher level of achievement.
In America, the Western Europeans brought most of our fighting systems, and Americans relied heavily upon superior firearms to ensure them personal safety. We have always longed for systems that were superior and effective, and the Orientals showed us highly skilled systems for personal defense. The trouble with most of these unarmed hand-to-hand fighting systems is that they rely on continuous practice to maintain skill and stamina.
The Russians have shown us a way to learn highly complex fighting skills in a simple progression that makes everything easy to remember. This is the link so many of us have been trying to find. We wanted superior techniques that were effective, but something easy enough to remember that we did not need continuous practice to maintain our split second timing and excellent physical conditioning.

I take the "supermarket approach" to fighting. I take what I like and can do and leave the rest on the shelf. I've learned things from every tape I've bought from you, any of which could save me or my family someday. I've added a few more things to my arsenal from Oleg and Vladimir. I really liked the real life application segments which were missing from Vladimir's other tapes. What I would've liked to see were some segments from some of Oleg's fights in the UFC. He showed some moves but it would've been nice to see those in use in actual fights.
With soldiers like those two, I think our guys are fortunate they never had t go hand to hand with the Russians. I think we would've lost. Those guys are incredible.

One word can describe the "International Warrior Series" Excellent! I've viewed them several times now and each time I pick up more. I'm not what I would call a skilled fighter, just an average guy that would rather just walk away. I'm an OTR truck driver and I do go to places that one needs to be confident he can control a situation should it arise. These tapes are increasing that level immensely.
I have to include Oleg Takatarov is a very skilled teacher. His methods were simple, yet very devastating to an opponent. (There were several times in his tape where his assistants couldn't hide their pain, and he was being gentle.)
Vladimir Vasiliev's tape was also excellent. His methods will be a bit harder to master yet I can see once mastered they also will be extremely hard to beat in a street fight. Keep up the excellent work!

I wanted to take time out to write you on behalf of the videos I have purchased from you in the past. My first set was the Jim West videos. They were great straightforward street fighting videos. Next, I ordered Vladimir's Russian Secrets videos. It took me a few times of watching it to understand the movements and the style. Let me tell you though the Systema has to be the best style of fighting I have ever seen. It comes so natural and it works. The Ultimate Ground fighting tapes were awesome and very informative, especially in escaping different portions.
I have to admit though Vladimir's tapes are the best! The last set was Oleg and Vladimir's tapes. Vladimir doesn't show you just one scenario; he shows 5 or 6 different moves stemming from one technique. I've wanted to write you for a long time and now I finally have the chance, so I just wanted to tell you to keep up the good work! I've ordered tapes from other companies and they fail miserably compared to your tapes. If you can get hold of more Vladimir tapes, please let me know. Having reached this conclusion, I called to place my order without further delay.
When I received the video package, I didn't waste time and played the video right away. What I saw and learned totally blew me away! Oleg's leg locks and Vladimir's "Systema" were simply brutally efficient methods. I was especially thankful that someone, perhaps you or the Russian duo, included a "Real-life Application" segment. Lectures and studio demos are okay, but when they are applied in "reality-like" environments such as a bar room or in the parking lot, that's a whole added dimension to learning the finer points.

Oleg Taktarov and Vladimir Vasiliev, have outdone themselves again in the "International Warrior Series" video. I have studied worthless martial arts styles like Tae Kwon Do and Karate. Wearing pajamas, dancing in a kata form, and breaking boards will not prepare you for self-defense in the real world. The knowledge in this videotape goes a long way. I have learned a lot more from Oleg and Vladimir about self-defense then so-called eight-degree black belt, tae kwon do and karate masters of the world.

The "Russian System" tapes are truly unique -- as is Vladimir Vasiliev, your ex-Spetsnaz instructor. Seldom do civilians have the opportunity to see someone so obviously proficient at a military fighting art demonstrate his exceptional abilities. The techniques shown are extremely clever, deceptively simple, and appear devastatingly effective. The tapes are clear and well-produced, though because of the translator involved, a bit less detailed and harder to follow step-by-step than some of your other efforts. Nevertheless, I am quite impressed -- and wish that some of the wapons disarming techniques shown briefly in the "montage" segments of the tapes had also been covered. (Do I sense another set of tapes in the offing? If so, I'm already interested).

I do not know how you afford to produce set after set of top-quality street defense tapes, and offer them at bargain basement prices, but once again, I must say I am impressed. In the Spetsnaz Systema, I loved the constant-efficient motion and Trinity Shot principles. It is an instinctive component of my own martial art philosophy, but I had never heard it put into the right words, nor seen it so fluidly and descriptively demonstrated. Also, relaxed movement and whip-like striking action forms a very effective technique. The "smiling" technique is frighteningly real, too all the way from psychological advantage to the powerful inner peace of an experienced martial artist. The use of the jacket proved innovative and the instant "brass knuckles" were delightful as well.

I'm glad I sent for these tapes. You were right! Unlike Karate, Judo, etc,. There are no real holds or techniques or steps to learn as in other martial arts programs. I have to admit; I haven't seen anything like Vladimir' s Russian fighting system. I am truly amazed at how easy the moves are to get down. I spar and wrestle with some guys I train with, and find myself using some of the moves from the Russian system when I seem to get stuck.
As you may know, I own several other tapes from your company. Tapes from Jim West, Chris Clugston, Shahram Moosavi, The Delta Seals Training Camp videos and Ben Cooley. And now the complete Russian Fighting System. All these tapes are great and I have learned a lot from them. Plus, the confidence you get from them can't be described. I can't say enough about them.
I don't know what I can say about the last of Vladimir's tapes, except, it does indeed complete the training in the system. All the tapes are incredible. I have never had to use any of the fighting skills that I have learned from these tapes, but enough for finding this information, especially in this violent age.

I would like to commend you and your company on the videos that I have purchased. I work in downtown Chicago and frequently walk from the office to the train station very late through some very rough and dimly lit streets. I have been watching Vladimir Vasiliev's "Systema" tapes and practicing the techniques and it shows. What my co-workers call "walking the gauntlet" isn't at all frightening anymore. Some have even asked if they could walk to that train with me so they won't be approached.
The Russian Systema tapes were surprisingly easy to learn both for my family and for me. Being the new kid at school has been particularly hard on my son. He's 10, a bit on the small side, and stutters. He's been regarded as an easy target since he started there in September. Last week, a class bully and his entourage followed my son home from school and attacked him. My son was able to turn things around very quickly and had their leader - the class shark - screaming in pain. He was all over them and they finally ran away. I'm very relieved to say that he's been left alone by these punks ever since. You and TRS are to be commended for providing such useful information as presented in these tapes.

If you are after very basic self defence and thats all, you can't go far wrong with this video. This video does not contain armed forces unarmed combat as such. A few of the moves look similar to others I have studied. I feel that this video is a bit too concerned with what to do then run away. I know taking your self out of harms way is what should be done, but there is nothing on blocking attacks or punching. I would recomend this video to women (thats not being sexist by the way, you will understand the practical aplications if you see the video) and people with fears about walking dark streets etc. For people that want a bit more of a traditional fighting without running away you should check out some of Pauls other stuff. It is really amazing.
I think I would be wrong to dismiss this info, when it is instinctive it is a brilliant form of defence.
If you need extra confidence on the street you will like this video.

Paul Vunak's "Street Safe" gives the most direct and effective self defense course I've seen. Tom Cruse gives fantastic drills to improve trapping skills. I was surprised that you left those out of the ads. This video is an excellent tool for teachers or students interested in finding out how to improve and hone basic skills. If the fight should go to the ground, Sharam's "Ultimate Ground Fighting" lives up to its hype. It condenses the material one would learn in one of those six tape sets into two. Very well done and surprisingly effective. One of my friends is an instructor for the Marine Corps hand to hand program; he uses the same techniques.

I felt that I had to write to you to thank you for marketing such a great group of professionals. There is too much B.S. in the Martial Arts today. You guys are clearing out the smoke. I love the video quality of the tapes. I love the audio quality of the tapes. I love the instructional quality of the tapes. In fact, it was the first two tapes I've ever gotten in martial arts instruction, "Street Safe" and "Street Safe 2", that led me to stop being a couch potato and look for and take classes in the only JKD school in the area where I live.
Now, I've yet to actually get into a situation where I needed to use any of the techniques taught in those tapes, but I find it extremely conforting to know that I have the options available to me.

Anthony Robbins preaches: if you want to excel at something in the least amount of time, you've got to speak to the people who are the best at what it is you wish to accomplish. You must interview these people and extract the information, the key points, the common denominator from each of them. In doing so you can learn in minutes what it took each of these individuals' years to learn. You have accomplished this task and I intend to reap its benefits.
